CHAS, Childrens Hospices Across Scotland, requested that they could speak about their new fund raising programme, Keep the joy alive. John Duff will be delivering the talk on behalf of CHAS. He has been a volunteer for CHAS since retiring from the police in 2011. John is a Church of Scotland Elder at Weem Church and currently an elected Councillor for Perth and Kinross Council (Highland Ward).

There will be a visit the A9 dualling works on Monday 18th November. We  meet at the exhibition hall in the temporary 'village' south of Bankfoot. Cycling the Silk Route by Tess Monteith

In February 2015, Perthshire painter Tess Monteith and her daughter, Francesca, set out to cycle the ancient Silk Route from Shanghai to Venice in aid of Scotland’s Air Ambulance charity.  A gruelling journey of 5000 miles through the deserts of China, the fabled cities of Central Asia to the Caspian Sea. We deliver the essentials families need to begin rebuilding their lives after disaster. Each disaster is different, and so is every community. We don’t believe that one size fits all, so we spend time talking to affected families to make sure we provide the right support at the right time. For some disaster-hit communities, our family-sized tents are the best solution until they are able to start rebuilding their homes. One of our members had some help from Lead Scotland with computer and iphone problems and felt that the Probus group members would be interested in hearing about it. Lead Scotland, is a voluntary organisation set up to empower disabled young people and adults and carers across Scotland to access learning opportunities.
